Now you’re ready to make the batter! Slowly and carefully mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Don’t overmix them – this will create the chemical reaction that makes the pancakes fluffy.

The key to cooking picture-perfect pancakes is a clean, well-heated skillet. Your non-stick skillet should be completed heated through (or else you risk the batter sticking) and without any type of grease/fat.

Use Your Favorite Milk

If you’re lactose intolerant, make the pancakes with almond, oat, soy, or cashew milk. They will still be just as fluffy and tasty.

How To Store Homemade Pancakes

They taste best when you serve them fresh, but you can store them in the fridge and eat them later.

Store your cooked pancakes in an airtight container or food storage bag. Keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat your pancakes in the microwave.

How To Freeze Pancakes

These are the perfect pancakes to freeze, too!

Let the pancakes cool to room temperature. Then, wrap each pancake in wax or parchment paper and plate them in a freezer-safe food storage bag. Keep them in the freezer for up to six months.

Reheat them in the microwave or a toaster.

Easy Homemade Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

Add These to Make Batter

  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Dry Mix Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup of dry mix, 1 cup milk, 1 egg and the vanilla. Whisk well for a minute or so until batter is nice and smooth.
  • Melt a pat of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Pour in about 1/4 of a cup of the batter for a good standard sized pancake. Let cook until bubbles form on top of pancake then flip over with a large spatula. Cook on other side for about a minute or until golden brown.
  • Serve with fresh fruit and maple syrup.
