It can be served with any number of main courses and is particularly good with a nice steak or fish.

You can often find asparagus that is very thick or very thin at your local supermarket. Either will do but if you can find a nice bunch of medium-sized stalks – all the better.

The ingredients are simple and common in most kitchens. The whole recipe only takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Asparagus Roasting Tips

This is a super-simple recipe, but here are some tips that will make it even easier.

Can I Store Leftovers?

Absolutely! Whether you’re refrigerating or freezing, ensure the roasted asparagus is completely cool to the touch before storing.

To refrigerate, place in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

When freezing, wrap in aluminum foil and place in a freezer-friendly container OR freezer bag. It will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

What Can I Serve This With?

The best part about this side dish is that it can pair with SO many main dishes. Here are a few of our favorites:

Is Lining the Pan with Tin Foil Necessary?

Nope, it’s not necessary at all! We do love this step because it helps lots with clean-up and retains all the oil and spices on the asparagus itself.

Are There Any Ingredient Alternatives?

Feel free to have fun with the seasonings! We went pretty basic and stuck with salt, pepper and garlic powder (we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you!) but feel free to mix it up with other spices such as:

Make It In The Air Fryer

You can also roast asparagus in the air fryer! Follow the same steps, just shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking time. The air fryer will make the asparagus nice and crispy, and you won’t have to use nearly as much oil as when you bake it in the oven.
