When it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, turkey is the highlight of the occasion. Americans do have their secret-recipe on how to make the perfect turkey dinner. For those who are still learning the ropes, so to speak, here is a simple, easy turkey recipe.
This recipe is not only for Thanksgiving – you can make this one even for the family get-together or for those picnic during summer time.
- 1 whole Turkey
- Salt and Pepper
- Onions (chopped)
- Carrots (shopped)
- Apples (chopped)
- Herbs (any as desired)
- Melted Butter
Preheat the oven up to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Save the giblets for the gravy.
Dry the turkey with paper towels. Season the turkey inside out with salt and pepper.
Stuff the rest of the ingredients into the turkey. Brush with melted butter and place breast side on a roasting pan.
Cover the turkey with foil and bake for 2 hours (for a big one, add 20 minutes). Remove the foil and baste the turkey with melted butter. Turn the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bake for another hour or until the turkey is brown and cooked. Let the turkey rest before serving.
