Tips for Quick and Easy George Foreman Grill Pork Chops

What Temperature/Setting To Preheat The Grill On

Before you cook the pork chops, set your George Foreman Grill to HIGH and let it preheat with the lid closed for about 5-10 minutes.

This will make the skillet hot enough to cook the pork completely.

How Long to Cook Pork Chops on George Foreman Grill

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This recipe could not be easier.

First things first, make sure to preheat your George Foreman grill (or any indoor contact grill press) for at least 5-10 minutes. Start preheating your George Foreman grill before seasoning your pork chops and it will be perfectly preheated when you are ready to cook. A hot George Foreman grill will give your pork chops the perfect sear and seal in all those invaluable juices.

Once your George Foreman grill is preheated, simply place your seasoned pork chops on the grill and close lid. Your pork chops will only take 4-6 minutes depending on thickness. Only 4-6 minutes! I mean c’mon. So quick!

Use your instant-read digital thermometer (aka your best friend while cooking meat) starting at 4 minutes to check doneness. The pork chops will be perfectly cooked when the thermometer reads 145 degrees.

As always, let your pork chops rest for about five minutes before serving to allow them to finish cooking and juices to redistribute. Bon appetit!

Pork Chop Seasoning

The seasoning for these pork chops on the George Foreman grill is simple and easy and delicious with just two pantry staples – brown sugar and soy sauce. A match made in heaven. The brown sugar will caramelize on the George Foreman grill giving you a beautiful crust. The soy sauce will give you just the right amount of salt to balance the flavor profile.

Sodium conscious? Feel free to substitute low sodium soy sauce. This will lower the salt content without sacrificing the flavor.

Can I Make Quick and Easy George Foreman Grill Pork Chops with Bone In Pork Chops?

Oh absolutely. A bone-in pork chop will help ensure a juicy chop without overcooking and impart a little more flavor to the meat. Simply increase your cooking time on the preheated George Foreman grill to 8-10 minutes. Start checking the internal temperature at 8 minutes. No one likes an overcooked and dry pork chop.

If you are slightly more health-conscious, stay true to the recipe and use the boneless center-cut pork chops. This is a leaner cut and will decrease your calorie count.

  1. Thanks for the easy pork recipe. Suppose to be on 1200 calorie a day and I have had the grill for 2 years and just looked at the box so now I’m going to use it for a second time. I did do some turkey burger with peppers and onions and it was perfect and good taste. Need to get more recipes so I can use the grill more. Any more ideas need to get 50 pds off so I can have both knees replaced so I don’t end up in a wheel chair, I’m already using a cane not to mention I had to sell my car because I couldn’t get in and out. So this is important to me that I loose the weight.

    1. This has nothing to do with the gorge foreman grill but for your calorie diet. I like to boil a few eggs and toast up whole grain bread smear some avocado then top with the sliced boiled egg. Very delicious. Very filling!

The pork chops were good but the clean-up was horrible!! The brown sugar caramelized on my George and I thought I’d never get that off. Scraping with a wooden spatula finally got it off. I always put a wet paper towel on my George after cooking to make clean-up easier. Don’t do this with this recipe because the paper towel stuck to the grill and had to be pealed off and wet down to remove. Maybe I did something wrong, but I’ve used my George for a long time and never had issues like this, but I’ve also never put brown sugar on a meat and cooked it on there.

    1. Thanks for the feedback Carol. We’re getting ready to reshoot the photos on this particular recipe so we’ll let you know if we experience the same sticking issue that you had.

    2. I agree – the brown sugar flavor sounded great, but the clean up is tough – and I found the soy sauce flavor to be too strong – could be my brand or maybe I put on too much. Pork was tender – just didn’t care for the taste.

The recipe didn’t say which heat setting to use on the grill, so I picked 400F. This was not hot enough as even after 8 minutes the pork wasn’t completely cooked. Cooking temperature is generally a pretty important aspect of recipes so it’s questionable as to why it wasn’t included. Either they don’t want you to succeed or they never actually made it themselves before publishing it.

    1. Hi Mark,

We’re sorry to hear you ran into trouble with this particular recipe, as it happens to be one of our favorites here at Easy Recipe Depot! Did you happen to follow the instructions directly from the recipe card? The only reason we ask is because sometimes, people don’t even realize we have a recipe card at the very bottom of the post and this is where you’d find all specific details of the recipe! Further, did you use a George Foreman Grill or another type of grill? We recommend cooking the pork until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F!

      Let us know!

      Best wishes,

      1. I’m sorry, but that did not answer the question. What temperature should we preheat our George Foreman Grill to before cooking the pork chops? You said preheat it for 5 to 10 minutes, but you didn’t say at what temperature. I understand that the pork chops are finished when they have an internal temperature of 140°, but what temperature should I set the grill to when I turn it on to preheat it?

        1. Hi Sue,
We apologize for not being clear! The George Foreman Grill should be preheated to HIGH – thank you for pointing this out to us. We have gone ahead and updated the recipe card as well.
          Happy cooking!
