Equipment

  • 1 quart mason jar
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 reusable nut milk bag
  • 1 container with pour spout

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground coffee
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  • Fill a mason jar to the 3 cup line with water.
  • Add 1 cup of ground coffee.
  • Stir to saturate all the grounds well.
  • Replace the lid and give it a good shake.
  • Place on the counter or in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
  • Place nut bag over a container with a pour spout like a large measuring glass.
  • Remove lid and pour coffee into container through the nutbag.
  • Squeeze excess liquid out of bag, throw away grounds.
  • Rinse out mason jar to remove any remaining grounds.
  • Return strained coffee to the mason jar.
  • Add additional cup of water to fill to up to the top of the mason jar.

Notes

Keep coffee in the refrigerator for up to a week, it is still usable but after a week it begins to turn bitter.
