As a mom of two, our mornings are incredibly hectic (to say the least)! My husband leaves quite early for work, so I’m a one-man show when it comes to getting ready for school. Despite our crazy mornings, I always strive to serve delicious breakfasts, and my air fryer has been a game changer.
My Air Fryer Egg Toast is my most recent discovery, and we love them! They resemble the classic “Eggs in a Basket” but are so much easier to put together.

Air Fryer Egg Toast
Make an Indent Rather Than a Hole
Most recipes for eggs in a basket call for a hole in the bread (and the hole is where you would crack the egg). However, for my Air Fryer Egg Toast, you will want to create an indent rather than a hole. This gives the egg a little “basket” to sit in and prevents making a mess in your air fryer.
How Do I Make an Indent in My Bread for Air Fryer Egg Toast?
To make the indent in your bread, you must take a mason jar and push the mouth slightly into the center of the bread. Then, use the back of a spoon and push down to create even more of an indent within the circle.

Do I Need To Add Parchment Paper to My Air Fryer Basket?
Adding parchment paper is unnecessary for this Air Fryer Egg Toast recipe. However, I do recommend spraying it with a thin coat of cooking oil.
How Else Can I Top Off This Air Fryer Egg Toast?
You can top these egg toasts with the following toppings (but of course, the sky’s the limit with garnish possibilities):
- Cheese
- Diced bell peppers
- Sesame seeds
- Pink Himalayan salt
- Chili flakes
Do These Egg Toasts Make Good Leftovers?
This recipe tastes best when it’s fresh. I don’t recommend eating it for later use (so be sure to make the amount that you’ll need).
