Tips
As easy as this is, I wanted to share some tips and ideas that will not only speed up the process, but make it tastier and more fun each time you make them!
Pre-Cut The Meat
One way to really speed up the process is to pre-cut the meat into fun shapes and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Then, all you have to do is grab the meat and cheese and make the sandwiches.
Make Lunch Fun
Got a picky eater? Step-up your sandwich game by making these delicious Cookie Cutter Sliders. Your little ones will love the fact that their meat is in fun shapes, and you’ll be reassured that they’ll actually consider eating their meal! Food can definitely be fun!
Stack The Meat
When cutting the luncheon meat with a cookie cutter, be sure to stack them so that you can get a lot done at a time. Plus, it makes it a lot easier than just cutting through one thin slice at a time.
Use The Best Size Cookie Cutter
When purchasing the meat, keep the size of your cookie cutters in mind. You’ll most likely want to go for larger slices (this is why we opted for ham, as they tend to be larger).
You might also want to buy smaller cookie cutters, too!
Use Different Cookie Cutters
You’re not limited to just a heart-shaped! You can use any cookie cutter! Stars are also very popular – and so are gingerbread men shapes during the holidays.
Change The Bread
Have fun with the choice of breads for your sliders! Of course, miniature hamburger buns (which are classic for sliders), are always popular amongst little ones, but we also found these round croissants that did the trick!
Hawaiian rolls make awesome slider buns and kids love the sweet taste. You can also find slider buns in most grocery store bread aisles.
Make Burger Sliders Instead of Meat and Cheese
You can also make cheeseburger sliders instead of deli meat sliders.
If you want to make cookie-cutter sliders out of hamburger meat, I suggest frying the burgers on a George Foreman Grill. It’s super easy to just cut out the slider patties, then put them on the Foreman Grill for about 2 minutes.
That’s all they will need since they’re so small. Of course, you can use a regular skillet or frying pan too.
Have fun with this recipe. The kids will love using the cookie cutters to make these little delightful sliderss in all different shapes and sizes.
You can also use the cookie cutters to cut out matching cheese slices. Again, put the cheese slices in the freezer for a couple of minutes first so they’re easier to work with.
