Easy Oven Baked Chicken Parmesan

The perfect, easy to make a healthy baked chicken Parmesan recipe that you bake in the oven. With just a few easy steps and ingredients, you can have this delicious recipe on your plate in no time!

This Classic Parmesan crusted chicken baked is basically breaded boneless chicken breast, topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. It can be served by itself or with pasta for a classic meal.

This recipe bakes right in the oven in only 30 minutes.

An excellent choice for a weeknight dinner for two.


  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup of Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 jar (24oz) of your favorite spaghetti or marinara sauce.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

Combine lightly beaten egg and milk in a bowl.

Step 3

Dip chicken in egg/milk mixture, then dip in in bowl with breadcrumbs. Then, place breaded chicken breasts in a 13x9 inch glass baking dish.

Step 4

Bake, uncovered for 20 minutes.

Step 5

Pour sauce over chicken and add shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes or until done. Check with an instant read thermometer. Temp will be 165 degrees F when done.

    Hi I made this for dinner tonight and it was so yummy. I added parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to the egg and bread crumbs. I like a lot of flavor and this worked for us. The crust was nice and crunchy with no soggy parts. I would suggest checking the chicken temp before adding the sauce and cheese however. My chicken was very thick and needed almost an extra 20 minutes to cook. Thank you for the super easy recipe. I will definitely be making this many more times to come.

      If you use a mallet to flatten each breast to an even thickness, I like just under an inch thick, it won’t take as long.

    Delicious and easy! My family didn’t even know that this was made with no oil! Only change I made was to add parmigiana cheese to the bread crumbs. Definitely going into one of our regular meals.
